Lash Extensions Aftercare

At LashPrincipal we send every guest home with an aftercare instructions, but a refresher never hurts. Use these studio-approved tips from Mariam and Elena to keep your extensions full, fluffy, and healthy between refills.

Know Your Lash Cycle

Each natural lash grows, rests, and sheds on its own timeline. When an extension falls, it’s almost always attached to a natural lash that has reached the end of its cycle. Don’t panic—that’s normal biology. Staying on top of refills simply keeps the set balanced as new lashes grow in.

The First Few Hours

  • Keep them dry: Avoid water, steam, and heavy sweating for 5-6 hours while the adhesive fully cures.
  • Skip touching: Resist the urge to test them—oils from your hands can weaken the bond.

Cleanse Like a Pro

  • Morning & night: Massage a foaming, oil-free lash shampoo along the lash line with eyes closed, then rinse with cool water.
  • Pat, don’t rub: Gently blot dry with a lint-free towel and brush upward from mid-length to tip with your spoolie.

What To Avoid

  • Mascara & mechanical curlers: They cause clumping and stress bonds.
  • Oil-based skincare: Swap to oil-free products around your eyes so the adhesive stays strong.
  • Direct heat: Sauna sessions, baking over an open oven, or hot tools too close to your face can relax the curl.

Daily Habits That Help

  • Sleep smart: If you’re a side sleeper, try a silk pillowcase to minimize friction.
  • Brush with intention: One or two soft strokes a day keeps lashes aligned without overworking them.
  • Hydrate & nourish: A balanced diet and regular water intake support strong natural lashes.
