What brow lamination is

Brow lamination re-sets the direction of your own brow hairs so they sit up and in place. Gaps close, the shape looks fuller and more even, and your brows stay brushed up without gel.

Nothing is added and nothing is tattooed: it works only on the hairs you have.

It suits you if your brow hairs grow down or in different directions, if you fill in gaps every morning, or if you want the brushed-up look without styling. If your brows are very sparse, your artist will tell you honestly whether a tint or growing them out will do more for you.

Lamination, tint, henna or wax?

What it does
Lamination Sets the hairs up and in place, for a fuller shape
Tint Darkens fine or light hairs so the shape shows
Henna Tints the hairs and the skin beneath them, for a filled-in look
Lamination and tint Fuller and more defined
Tint and wax Darkened and tidied, no lamination
Lamination, tint and wax The full brow: set, darkened and tidied

Henna brows are a tint that goes further: henna colors the skin under your brows as well as the hairs, so sparse spots look softly filled in, like a brow pencil you don’t have to put on. Aimee does henna brows. They aren’t on the online booking menu yet, so call us to book.

Not sure which? Your artist looks at your brows and talks it through with you before starting.

How long it lasts and aftercare

Lamination usually lasts about 6 to 8 weeks, fading as your brow hairs grow and shed. Tint fades sooner, over a few weeks.

  • For the first 24 hours keep your brows dry: no washing, steam, sweaty workouts or makeup on them.
  • Don’t rub them or sleep face down that first night.
  • After that, brush them up each morning. A brow conditioning oil at night keeps the hairs soft.

Pair it with a lash lift

Brows and lashes frame each other. A lash lift curls your own lashes for weeks, so together you wake up with your whole eye area done. Book both online, one after the other.

Questions

Does brow lamination hurt?

No. You lie back with your eyes closed while the lotions work. Some people feel a mild tingle. Tell your artist straight away if anything stings.

How often can I have it done?

No more often than every 6 to 8 weeks, once the last one has grown out. More often than that can dry the hairs out.

I have sensitive skin. Can I still have it?

Usually, yes. Tell us when you book (there’s a notes box) or at the start of your visit about allergies, skin conditions, retinoid or acne treatments, and any recent peel or brow treatment. Your artist will check your skin before starting and, if lamination isn’t right for you this time, suggest a gentler option.
